About Jeramie

Jeramie’s creative journey began in the opal fields of Coober Pedy, where as a teenager he taught himself to fossick and cut opals. By his mid-teens, he was trading stones and learning silversmithing from a local craftsman, skills that set the foundation for a lifelong career in jewellery and sculpture. Moving to the NSW Mid North Coast in his twenties, sculpture became his language. Welding, carving, and casting gave him the freedom to bring together everything he’d learned with his hands. It’s a way of creating without limits turning rough materials into forms that carry memory, meaning and a sense of place.

For Jeramie, art is about connection. Each piece he makes is built to resonate, whether it’s standing in a public space or held quietly in someone’s life. Sculpture doesn’t apologise or ask permission it simply exists, inviting others to feel, remember and see the world a little differently.

His work draws deeply on the environments that have shaped him from the rugged desert landscapes of his childhood to the vast ocean he came to know as an adult.

Reflections on Jeramie’s Work

  • Where most of us see a block of wood, a collection of seed pods or a sheet of copper, Jeramie sees potential. He sees a story, a message and a whole new form, shape and structure.
